If you're experiencing issues with the HDMI-In functionality on a Mersive Solstice Pod, follow the steps below to ensure optimal performance and stability.
1. Ensure Firmware Is Up to Date
Before performing any troubleshooting, make sure the Solstice Pod is running the latest firmware version. Updates often include performance improvements and bug fixes that can resolve HDMI-In related issues.

2. Understand HDMI-In Port Behavior
-
OS-Level Control: The HDMI-In port is managed by the Android OS, not by the Solstice application. As such, HDMI-related logs are not accessible via the Solstice Pod’s log files.
-
Susceptibility in Older Versions: Pods running versions earlier than v6.2 are more prone to issues from rapid HDMI cable disconnection and reconnection, which can temporarily disable the port at the OS level.
3. Best Practices for HDMI Cable Usage
Incorrect handling of HDMI cables is a common cause of signal interruptions. Share the following guidance with your users:
-
Always fully seat the HDMI cable into both the Pod and the source device (e.g., laptop).
-
After inserting or removing the HDMI cable, wait at least 10 seconds before connecting or disconnecting again.
-
Avoid using HDMI management devices (e.g., extenders or switchers), as they are not officially supported.
4. Restoring HDMI-In Functionality
If the HDMI-In port becomes unresponsive, rebooting the Pod usually restores functionality. To prevent recurring issues, consider setting up a daily scheduled reboot.
Steps to Configure a Daily Reboot (via Solstice Dashboard):
-
Open Solstice Dashboard (not Solstice Cloud).
-
Navigate to System Settings.
-
Follow instructions to enable a scheduled daily reboot.
