Upload the update file
Before you start, ensure you have the following:
- A computer with an FTP client installed (e.g., FileZilla Client, WinSCP, or Cyberduck).
- The firmware file you need to upload.
- Network access to the Crestron device.
- FTP login credentials (username, password, and IP address of the creation device).
Connect to the Crestron Device via FTP
- Open your FTP client (e.g., FileZilla).
- Enter the FTP credentials:
- Host: sftp://<CrestronIPAddress>.
- Username: Your Crestron device username.
- Password: Your FTP password.Crestron device
- Click "Connect" or "Quickconnect" to establish a connection.
Navigate to the Firmware Folder
- Once connected, you will see a directory structure.
- Locate and open the firmware folder (found in the root directory
/firmware/).
Upload the Firmware File
- In your local file explorer (left panel in FileZilla), navigate to where your firmware file is stored.
- Drag and drop the firmware file into the firmware folder on the Crestron device (right panel in FileZilla).
- Wait for the upload to complete. You should see a progress bar or confirmation message once it's done.
Verify the Upload
- Check the firmware folder on the device to confirm the file is present, ensure the size of the source file and destination match.
Disconnect from FTP
Once the upload is complete, close your FTP client or click "Disconnect" to safely terminate the connection.
Trigger the update
Open Crestron Toolbox
- Open Crestron Toolbox with Administrator privileges
- Start a Text Console connection with the end device.
- Device Discovery > Select Device > Functions > Text Console
- Top Menu Bar > Text Console > Edit Address > Enter IP Address of Processor
- Confirm device connected, this will display model number in the window

- Once connected, enter the command puf. This will trigger the update to start, you do not need to stay connected throughout this process.
